MBBS (Hons)
Past Experience:
I was born in South Africa, but moved to Australia in 2006 with my family and subsequently studied Medicine at UWA, graduating in 2015.
Since then, I've worked mainly in the major public and private Perth hospitals, gaining a wide range of experience in different specialties, but probably my favourite experience was my time spent living and working in Alice Springs and Kalgoorlie - which taught me how rewarding it is to practice regional medicine and brought me to Denmark!
What I enjoy about General Practice:
I chose this path because I love variety and so my hospital time has taught me the value of continuity in the doctor-patient relationship. I think it is a privilege to be able to look after a person through all the different stages of life and only a GP has the scope to do that. I believe the best way to help people towards good health is to look after them as a whole person, and tailor their care to their circumstances.
Special Interests:
I love the variety in General Practice, because it means I can keep growing and learning. That said, an area I particularly enjoy and am highly experienced in chronic disease management and adult internal medicine.
I have also always enjoyed procedural work - small surgeries and skin care, as well as antenatal care.
Personal Interests:
I moved to Denmark with my husband because I love bushwalking, gardening and spending time absorbing the beauty of nature. I also love reading, doing art and listening to or playing music. I have a strong appreciation for arts and love collecting creative ceramics, candles, cushions and all sorts of knick knacks.
