HOW DO I ARRANGE TO SEE A DOCTOR?
To see a doctor, you will first need to make an appointment. If your case is urgent, we will do our best to ensure you are seen on the day.

TELE HEALTH APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ELIGIBLE PATIENTS.
Please book a long appointment if:

It's your first appointment with us and you are over 65

You have a complex health problem or wish to discuss more than one health concern.

You require counselling for emotional support.

You require an insurance (workers compensation) or work medical.
HOME VISITS
If you have a condition which prevents you from attending the surgery and you require a home visit, please contact the surgery as early as possible. This will enable staff to arrange an appropriate time for the doctor to attend.
PATIENT REMINDER SYSTEM
This practice has an automated recall system in line with national and state reminder systems whereby you may receive a telephone call from our practice staff regarding your recent Pathology/Radiology results or correspondence from other Health Care Providers. We also offer a comprehensive reminder system to assist you to maintain your good health.
EMERGENCY & AFTER HOURS CARE
In cases of emergencies and after hours care (including home visits) please call 000 or the Denmark Health Service on (08) 9848 0600 who will contact the on-call doctor to determine what care is deemed necessary and appropriate.
Or you can attend the Denmark Hospital Emergency Department - 50 Scottsdale Road, Denmark.
Alternatively, call WA Health Direct on 1800 022 222 (free service). This is an after hours helpline for health information and assistance from a registered nurse or medical advice from a GP if needed.
REFERRALS
The doctors at Denmark Family Practice offer the best quality healthcare across a wide range of medical issues.
If required, your doctor may refer you for further specialist investigation - the most appropriate Specialist referral pathway will be discussed with you when you book a consultation.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
If you require a repeat prescription that has previously been issued at this practice and you have seen your doctor in the last three months, you may be able t obtain a repeat prescription without a consultation with a Doctor (with the Doctor's agreement). Please discuss this with your Doctor or our friendly Reception staff to se if you are eligible, otherwise you will be required to attend an appointment with your doctor.
TRANSFER OF MEDICAL RECORDS
We are currently accepting new patients and are happy to accept the transfer of relevant medical records from another Doctor or medical practice. To ensure compliance with privacy regulations we require a signed patient permission.
If you're a current patient of Denmark Family Practice and you'd like to have your medical files transferred to another Doctor, we will also require a signed permission statement and details from the requesting doctor which specifies what records are required. This ensures that only the right information is transferred.
CANCELLATION FEES
We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s lives. To be effective and fair to all our patients the following policy will be implemented as of the 1st April 2022.
No show and cancellation fee.
We are a busy practice and endeavouring to service the whole community, if you need to cancel your appointment, we require a minimum of 3 hours notice.
Missing your appointment without proper notification may result in a non rebatable $50 fee.
All fees must be paid before an appointment will be rescheduled. If you find yourself running late, please call our reception team who will advise you on how to progress.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but appointments are often difficult to schedule and we would like to be able to offer your appointment time to somebody else in need.

CONSULTATION FEES
Denmark Family Practice is a private billing practice. Fees vary on your personal consultation with the doctor and in line with the fee schedule advertised in our reception area. This fee varies according to the time spent and number of items discussed at your appointment.
The initial consult for all patients over the age of 18 will be $90 - $150.
After the initial consult, we are proud to offer bulk-billing (no gap) for children, young adults (18 years and under), existing pensioners and Veteran Affairs members for standard consultations - please note some specialised services and treatments may incur a fee.
New Pensioners, Commonwealth Seniors Health and Health Care Card holders will be charged a reduced fee with a $38.80 gap.
TREATMENT ROOM FEES
There is a $40.00 (minor lesion removal) and $60.00 (complex or more than one lesion removal) treatment room fee which assists with instrument sterilising, medical consumables and nurse's time.
A $20.00 minor treatment room fee will be charged for minor wound dressings, ear syringing etc. Complex wound dressing charges will be discussed prior to treatment.
IRON INFUSIONS
Iron infusions are done in the surgery to meet initial iron deficiency anaemia. Iron infusions undertaken at the surgery will require an initial assessment for diagnosis then a follow up appointment to complete the infusion. The fee for the infusion is $90.00 with a $41.20 Medicare Rebate plus a non-rebatable fee of $100 to cover consumable items.
DRIVING & EMPLOYMENT MEDICALS
Medicals for F Class Licences and pre-employment Medicals incur a fee of $130.00 - $200.00 and are not recoverable from Medicare, however you may be able to claim these on your tax return.
UNABLE TO MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT?
As of 1 April 2022
you will be charged a
non-rebatable fee of $50
if you do not attend your appointment or if you cancel within 3 hours of your scheduled appointment.
Email cancellations cannot be accepted

so other patients aren't left waiting.
PAYMENT OF FEES
Payment of fees will be required at the time of consultation and outstanding accounts may mean you are unable to re-book a follow up appointment.
We accept cash, cheque, EFTPOS and all major credit cards.
CLAIMING MEDICARE BENEFITS
We offer Medicare Easyclaim where your claim can be submitted electronically from our practice to Medicare and a rebate transmitted directly back to your savings/cheque account.
Please bring your valid medicare and/or Health Care Cards to your appointment.
