Health Checks

Health checks are a medicare-funded initiative that allows people in a particular age bracket or who may have a particular health risk, to access a comprehensive health assessment.

​

The team at Denmark Family Practice are equipped to perform these assessments, which usually involve a consult with a nurse and Doctor. You'll come away from a health check with some recommendations on how to improve your health and best of all, it is fully covered by medicare (for eligible patients). 

​

The types of health checks that qualify for the medicare rebate include:

​

• 45 - 49 year old (once off) health checks - to review general health and assess if you're at risk of developing a chronic disease.

​

• Over 75 years health check - provided annually

​

• Type 2 diabetes risk assessment for those 40-49 years old who are at risk

​​

• Residents in aged care facility - comprehensive annual check
